What’s the Update?
As promised, Activision revealed the next Call of Duty game today. They had already talked about it at the beginning of this month. Now, we have the first video for Modern Warfare III. This game is different from Modern Warfare 3, which came out in 2011.
Moreover, the new game has a story that you can play by yourself. It comes after Modern Warfare II and has a new type of mission called “open combat.” This means players can decide how to play, like sneaking around or using big guns. The missions are made to go along with the main story, which is usually a straight path in Call of Duty games.
Call of Duty games have been coming out every year since 2005. Modern Warfare III is different because it continues the story from the game that came out the year before. This time, the story keeps going after Modern Warfare II, which was made by Infinity Ward. The new game is made by Sledgehammer Games.
Activision wrote in a blog post that they’ve been working for years to make back-to-back Modern Warfare games. Both Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games worked together to make a big sequel. This new game brings back well-known heroes and villains. Players will get closer to the characters and story, and they can keep making progress without stopping.
In the multiplayer part of the game, there are 16 maps when the game starts. More maps will come later. There are different modes like “hardpoint” and “kill confirmed.” There’s also a new mode called “cutthroat” where three teams fight each other. What’s cool is that the multiplayer is connected to last year’s game.
For the first time in Call of Duty, things you earned in the previous game can be used in the new game. Weapons and characters that you unlocked or have now can be used in both Modern Warfare II and Modern Warfare III.
And don’t forget about the zombies! The new game has a zombies mode. This time, it’s made by Treyarch, the team behind Call of Duty. It’s the biggest zombies map ever. It’s like a survival game where you fight zombies together.
The game will come out on November 10th. You can play it on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC (through Steam and Battle.net).
