Michigan is currently experiencing some very intense and strong storms. Within the midst of these storms, a devastating tornado touched down. This tornado was so strong that it actually flipped over cars along a major road known as I-96.
The tornado was strong enough that caused a significant amount of damage within the area. Unfortunately, this tornado has left over 330,000 people without electricity. This means that a huge number of individuals and families are currently without power due to the destruction caused by the tornado and the storms.

A big storm with heavy rain and strong winds hit southern Michigan. People say there might have been a tornado that flipped cars on a road. Some people might be stuck in the cars, but we don’t know if anyone got hurt.
There was a very dangerous tornado around the same place. It hit near a city called Williamston and a town called Fowlerville. This happened around 9:30 PM. The storm caused a lot of damage in Ingham County. People there were told to stay inside and not go out because there are trees and power lines on the ground.
The tornado warning ended at 9:51 PM, but there could still be storms that make tornadoes.
Right now, more than 330,000 people don’t have electricity in southern Michigan. This number might go up as the storms continue.
A strong thunderstorm warning is still active for southern Michigan until 1 a.m. ET. The storms will move towards northern Ohio in the next few hours.
The biggest problems could be very strong wind gusts up to 85 mph, big hailstones up to 2 inches wide, and maybe even tornadoes. They have already seen a very strong gust of wind at 70 mph in Eaton County.
These storms are happening after a heavy rainfall earlier in southern Michigan and northern Ohio on Thursday morning. This heavy rain brought 7.36 inches of water to Belleville, Michigan, and almost 8 inches to Danbury, Ohio.
